The El Rosario City Council begins work to build the second dog park that the municipality will have after the creation, last year, of the Tabaiba dog park. The new facility will be located in Radazul Bajo, inside the Guadamojete park, and covers an area of 345 square meters. The chosen area is located in the southwest corner of the aforementioned urban park, next to the vehicle access of the Radazul Mar Club, with little slope and respecting both the pedestrian access to the park and the sports and leisure route that exists there, being within the maritime-terrestrial boundary zone.
The mayor of El Rosario, Escolástico Gil, explains that this new public provision “strengthens the commitment acquired by the local government to progressively improve animal welfare standards in residential areas with a high percentage of dogs integrated into their family nuclei as one more member ». The first area for animal recreation was inaugurated in Tabaiba Baja in March of last year and in the first months of 2023 this second facility will be opened to the public.
In the dog park, different agility devices will be installed to promote physical exercise among the dogs, alternating these elements with three planters (the largest of which already exist) and two projected pergolas without any metallic element, only wood and rope, thus avoiding, in as far as possible, deterioration due to proximity to the marine environment. The dog space will be surrounded by a wall, as a perimeter bench, resolving the entire enclosure with transparent metal mesh so as not to lose sight of the sea at any time from inside and through the park itself. The budget for said installation is 34,258 euros and was awarded to the company BB Aventurero Canary Islands SL.
This second dog park in El Rosario solves the problem of finding safe, clean and enclosed places for pets to enjoy. The equipment will be completed with a double access door system to prevent dogs from leaving the enclosure, urban furniture and a drinking fountain for the animals.
