The advisor of the Popular Party in the Cabildo de Tenerife, Manuel Fernandez, denounces the “lack of transparency” of those responsible for the Mobility area of the island institution in relation to specific projects such as the tram to Los Rodeos. Fernández asked a question in the last Plenary Commission to find out in detail “the alternatives to the aforementioned project”, since, during the last plenary session, those responsible for the area They stated that they had put aside the project to expand tram line 1 to the Tenerife North airport, since, as a result of the studies of the Insular Mobility Plan, other forms and means of transport were being considered to articulate said connection .
“When asked about the details of the alternatives that are being considered, those responsible for the Mobility area have remained silent about the fact that they have abandoned the citizen participation process to find out the opinion of the population in relation to this issue, which On the other hand, it was a commitment acquired by the insular government, due to the social concern generated by the position of imposing a specific route in the tram project to Los Rodeos”, explained the PP counselor.
Regarding this issue, Fernández recalls that «the political parties We who make up the Island Corporation approved, at the time, a motion to mark a road map between all the parties on this project and, nevertheless, those responsible for the Mobility area have ignored this agreement, acting with a lack of transparency and secrecy regarding the decisions made in relation to the tram project to Los Rodeos”.
“The situation of the roads in Tenerife does not allow for constant improvisation by the administrations,” Manuel Fernández specified, to which he added: “Throughout this mandate we have seen how the people who run the Mobility area lurch with respect to projects that are of vital importance to put an end to the structural collapse suffered by Tenerife, and which we denounce not only from some political parties, but which is also a clamor on the part of Tenerife society”.
