After the installation of cameras for the transmission of live images at Playa Honda, El Camisón, Las Vistas and Los Cristianos, as well as the start-up of the two weather stations at Playa Honda and Las Vistas, the Arona City Council promotes new mechanisms for intelligent coastal management through KostaSystem technology, developed by the Azti company.
The system consists of installing cameras on the beaches of Las Vistas and Los Cristianos to manage three main lines of action, such as bathing safety, beach services, as well as monitoring the coastline. This technology makes it possible to establish patterns on the behavior of currents and waves, which guarantees the safety of bathers.
In addition, it allows greater efficiency in the tasks of monitoring and maintenance of the coast, allowing the calculation of the density of users on the beaches.
