Twelve new centers with 888 social-health places next year on the Island

The investment in dependency is “forced” for the insular government for “moral and ideological” reasons. According to the data provided by Pedro Martín, there are 7,474 places of care for dependent people on the island. Of these, 2,109 are new, created since 2019. A total of 3,071 residential, 2,330 day care, 1,100 equipped with autonomy promotion services and 970 of the innovative telecare. In bidding there are another 240 Specialized Home Help. Most of the users are elderly who receive this person-directed care. They suppose another model away from that of entertaining or entering. An example is the recently opened center in La Orotava for the elderly who retain their autonomy. Work is scheduled to start in 2023 for twelve centers throughout Tenerife with 888 places.
