The Development Society of Santa Cruz of Tenerife has programmed several parades during the month of December in the commercial areas of the five districts of the city, with Christmas characters, dancers and Disney characters. This has been communicated by the CEO of the Development SocietyAlfonso Cabello, who explained that “the objective is to create a favorable environment for Christmas shopping in the different neighborhoods of the municipality, while the little ones enjoy their favorite characters.”
“For the Centro-Ifara district, two dates have been scheduled, last Thursday, December 15 at 5:00 p.m. and this coming Sunday, December 18, at 11:30 a.m.,” said Cabello, adding that “this The parade begins in Plaza Weyler, runs through the streets Imeldo Serís, Valentín Sanz and Castillo and ends in the Plaza de la Candelaria, where a ‘photocall’ is located to take pictures with the characters”.
“In the Southwest district it will take place tomorrow, Saturday, December 17, at 11:30 a.m., and two sections have been planned,” said Cabello, who specified that “the first will take place in the commercial area located between the roundabout del Muñeco de Nieve and the crossing of the climb to El Sobradillo, and the second will take place in La Gallega, in the section between the streets El Perenquén and El Queque”.
Likewise, the mayor explained that “the Anaga district will also host a parade this coming Sunday, December 18, at 12:00, specifically in the town of San Andrés, running through Pedro Schwartz streets —the section between Celia Rodríguez and Chana Cabrera—, El Dique, Bartolomé de Belza, Sacramento, La Cruz and Guillén, as well as the Plaza de la Iglesia and Plaza de Las Adelfas” and added that “in the Ofra-Costa Sur district it will be on Monday, the 19th, from at 5:00 p.m., on Avenida de los Príncipes, from the Los Príncipes Shopping Center to the Yumbo Shopping Center”.
“The last of the parades will take place on Saturday, December 24, at 12:00 p.m., in the Salud-La Salle district, and will start from Pedro Schwartz square to go along Venezuela avenue to Canary Islands avenue,” he said. Cabello, who pointed out that “this initiative has been carried out thanks to the General Directorate of Commerce and Consumption of the Government of the Canary Islands, since it is part of the Plan for the Revitalization of the Commercial Areas of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, like other successful projects, such as the Historical-Commercial Routes or the Diagnostic service at the Point of Sale”.
In the same way, the mayor has stressed that “this revitalization aims to complement the Christmas program published by the Santa Cruz City Council, which has more than 65 activities for all audiences and can be consulted at the next web page ” and added that “to this wide offer of revitalization are added the five Christmas markets that will be set up in various parts of the city, thus ensuring a wide range of leisure activities in the capital of Tenerife during these festivities”.
