The City Hall of El Rosario hires 24 unemployed people from the municipality for the next six months, the first group of the Extraordinary Program of Employment Social 2023, which is part of the collaboration agreement between the Canary Islands Employment Service (SCE) and the Canary Islands Federation of Municipalities (Fecam). These workers correspond to the first phase of a total of 47 unemployed people who will enter the workforce during this month of December and next year. This program benefits from a municipal investment of 205,000 euros and a grant from the SCE of 252,438 euros.
The mayor of El Rosario, Escolástico Gil, accompanied by the Councilor for Employment and Local Development, Yeray Gutiérrez, received the 24 workers corresponding to the first group at the Casa de la Cultura. The first mayor stressed “the effort” made by the City Council “to finance this type of employment programs, whose municipal contribution is possible because when we came to the Government we lowered our salary and we can allocate those 200,000 euros a year that we save to cover employment policies.
In addition to the social employment plans, the El Rosario City Council has managed three Training Programs in Alternation with Employment (PFAE) during 2022: Rosatur II, Bienestar El Rosario III and El Rosario Limpio III, which will end in March 2023, and already concluded, the Municipal Employment Plan of El Rosario 2022, the insular program Valuation of Natural Heritage and Improvement of the Urban Environment and the Training and Employability Plan 2022. Together, all these projects and employment plans have given almost 200 residents of El Rosario the chance to enter the world of work this year, which is about to end.
Likewise, Gil reminded the new municipal employees that “from now on they will be part of the City Council, with the same rights and obligations, and therefore I ask them to always act professionally and responsibly.”
