Nueva Canarias will attend the next local elections at the hands of Ahora Tegueste in the municipality of Tenerife, confirming its commitment to the implementation of Canarianism on the island and with the confidence that the group headed by the now councilor Antonio López will improve the results obtained in the last elections

The president of the Canarian formation of progress, Román Rodríguez, attended a meeting this Monday with the militancy in Tegueste that served, at the same time, to publicize the team with which Now Tegueste-Nueva Canarias will compete. Antonio López, current mayor of Citizen Security and Sports, will be number one on a list that also includes the presence of esteemed personalities within the neighborhood life of the Tenerife municipality such as Tomás Rodríguez, Juani Artiles or Mario Peña, among others.

The event, held in the Sala Prebendado Pacheco de Tegueste, was also attended by prominent members of the Nueva Canarias Island Executive in Tenerife, such as the General Director of Institutional Relations of the Vice-Presidency, Carmen Nieves Gaspar; the mayor of Tacoronte, José Daniel Díaz; or the secretary of Territorial Implementation of Nueva Canarias, Valentín Correa.

Román Rodríguez stressed, during his address, that the men and women who make up “Now Tegueste-Nueva Canarias, if we do things well, we can decide who governs. It is more important to decide that and what program is imposed than to have an easy chair. My interest is that the Canarian policy is correct, that it is a policy for the majority and that we fight to protect the environment, to have an economic model that grows and that we have health, education and social rights that are guaranteed as the Spanish average. We, if we do things well, can condition Canarian politics. We are advancing in this sense to a great extent, but we are missing the leg of Tenerife and, among all of us, we are going to achieve it, ”he said hopefully.

Antonio López, for his part, indicated that the renewal of the agreement between Ahora Tegueste and Nueva Canarias for the 2023 local elections “is a source of pride because we want to continue working for this town and improve the role we have played in the government tasks we had.” assigned. Here in Tegueste we are going to improve the results because we are going with a work team, in which we integrate Tomás Rodríguez and Juani Peña, who take this town very inside and who are going to help us develop projects that further unite our neighborhoods, like the one we will take to join Padilla Alta with Valle Molina through the rural road that will be a faster connection route that will save the current journeys through Guamasa or El Portezuelo”.
