Podemos accuses Pedro Martín of “handing over” the Cabildo to the right

The general coordinator of Podemos Canarias, Laura Fuentes, has accused the president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Peter Martinof having chosen to “deliver” the insular Corporation to the right after having reached an agreement with the Popular Party to carry out the 2023 Budget.

In an audio sent to the media, Laura Fuentes has indicated that today it is confirmed again that they are budgets “full of cement, made to measure with Citizens and applauded and supported by the Popular Party, and they say a lot about how progressive the vision for Tenerife of the Socialist Party on the island”.

Fuentes wanted to recall that Podemos gave Pedro Martín two options to support next year’s accounts: either they left aside the macroprojects, such as the Motor Circuit, or they sought support from the right to approve their latest budgets for the Legislature.

“Unfortunately they have chosen the second; they have closed the doors when they have decided to inherit the policies of the Canary Coalition. They choose to hand over the Cabildo to the right for maintaining outdated and stale right-wing projects. Pedro Martín today has just lost the elections of 2023”, affirmed the coordinator of Podemos.

Laura Fuentes wanted to make it clear that the people who voted for the PSOE trusting in a change in the Cabildo “will not forgive” this agreement with the PP, and neither can we, thathe recalled, supported the motion of no confidence against the nationalist Carlos Alonso “to direct and change the course of island politics towards sustainability, the protection of our people and our territory”.
