Security forces are looking for the driver of a white van that on the night of this Sunday, December 11, ran over two women, of British nationality, in the municipality of San Miguel de Abona, in the south of Tenerife and then fled from the aforementioned enclave. The victims are mother and daughter, according to the sources consulted, and the youngest was seriously injured.
The events occurred at 8:45 p.m. at the main access to the Golf del Sur urbanizationin circumstances that are currently being investigated by agents of the Local police of San Miguel.
Women They walked from the industrial and residential area of Las Chafiras to the aforementioned tourist enclave on the coast along El Guincho avenue. And the driver of the white van was also driving in the direction of Golf del Sur, for which reason he ran over the women from behind.
The sinister road was witnessed by numerous people who were walking on the aforementioned road at that time. After the multiple collision, the driver of the vehicle involved braked, observed what had happened for a few seconds and, after verifying that those affected had been left lying on the roadresumed marching at full speed with the van.
For now it is unknown if any of the witnesses could write down or memorize the license plate. One of the hypotheses is that the body of the vehicle is one that is very similar in various brands.
Due to the characteristics of the event, the San Miguel Local Police has alerted other local police in the areaas well as civil guards from Citizen Security and the Traffic Group in case they detect a van of these characteristics with material damage on its front.
The youngest woman was treated by health personnel from a medicalized ambulance and another basic and transferred in very serious condition to the emergency department University Hospital Our Lady of La Candelaria (Hunsc).
Regarding the mother of the above, she was evacuated in another resource of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUCC) to the Hospiten Sur University Hospital, in Playa de las Américas.
