The Ministry of Health has reported that since last Friday in the Canary Islands there have been six deaths of people with coronavirusof which three died in Gran Canaria, two in Tenerife and one in Fuerteventura.
All the cases, aged between 82 and 95 years, had previous pathologies and were hospitalized.
Health has also reported that since the last data update, last Friday, 643 new positives for covid-19 have been reported in the archipelago among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group that is monitored. after passing the acute phase of the pandemic.
In this way, the accumulated number of coronavirus cases among this group amounts to 104,290 people in the Canary Islands, and the accumulated incidence for this age group at fourteen days stands at 270.54 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at seven days at 128.
In the Archipelago there are 123 people admitted for coronavirus, of which nine are in the ICU and the rest, 114, on the ward.
The Ministry of Health also recalls that since last August 12, and in compliance with the Resolution of August 5 of the General Directorate of Public Health of the Ministry of Health, in the calculation of beds occupied by patients with covid-19 it is taken into account counts the number of beds occupied by patients with pneumonia or acute respiratory infection or other pathology that is considered attributable to a SARS-CoV-2 infection.
