The Cabildo offers 99 positions in 28 different labor categories in the offer of job public for 2022 that includes the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP). This promotion is limited to three years from now for its full development. The insular Councilor for the Presidency, Finance and Modernization, Berta Pérez, is “happy” both for this proposal and for the stabilization of the current workforce in another parallel process that defines 76 positions for “interim” workers of “short duration”, those who have been in office since 2017.
Pérez values from the outset “the excellent work of my team” headed by the director of Human Resources, Lidia Pereira. She points out that “we advance in parallel processes.” On the one hand, this public offer of employment and on the other the stabilization of the workforce, as required by Law 20/2021 to end temporary employment.
Of the 99 new positions offered, 16 are open access –two of them internally promoted– for the Special Administration scale (architects, engineers…). For example, graduates in veterinary medicine or in Art History are requested, as well as an agent of the Environment.
405
Jobs
In different processes of stabilization of the workforce – yesterday the one for another 76 positions was announced – the Cabildo de Tenerife is going to consolidate 405 long- and short-term “interim” positions.
Another 31 jobs –seven for internal promotion– are claimed for the General Administration Scale. The offer is entered in this case in the legal-economic field. From specialized technicians to administrative assistants. As for the workforce, twelve positions are freely accessible and 30 are channeled for internal promotion.
Stabilization
Berta Pérez is particularly satisfied with the process of stabilizing the staff of the Island Corporation. He values that “this last call aims to consolidate 76 places”. He clarifies that “this time it is about those short-term temporary workers, with a contract since 2017.” They will have an opposition contest in which, the counselor makes it clear, “access is free as it cannot be otherwise.” However, they will have some priority over the rest. From the number of topics to the final score where you set a margin for your experience.
Pérez recalls that Law 20/2021 and a European court ruling links the Next Generation Funds and ending temporality. He values ”the unanimous agreement with all the unions, which is as complicated as it is remarkable.”
“We are very satisfied to combine stabilization with a new offer”
The Cabildo has already started the process to stabilize long-term contracts, those whose employment relationship began five years prior to 2020, with a limit of 2015, which is established by the European Union. Some workers have even been hired as temporary since 2005. For that, a contest was launched – without opposition – that seeks the stability of 192 civil servants and 137 laborers. Of the latter, 67 of long duration and 70 of the additional complementary rate. Together with the 76 of this call, there are 405 stabilized workers.
But it is not the only call underway by the Cabildo for new hires. Berta Pérez explains it: “When we arrived, the 2019 job offer was pending. The unions suggested that without stabilization there would be no new promotion. We also achieved, with prior agreement with them, these 86 positions that are about to be awarded.”
Pérez expresses his satisfaction “for the work of this team and for being pioneers in all this”. So much so as to become a “model for the island’s city councils or other island councils.” Likewise, the counselor insists on “legal security” of this process, the key “to avoid challenges.”
