The Canary Islands Tourism campaigns ‘Amnesia festival’ and ‘The Other Winter’ have been the winners of the Best!N Travel awards, marketing awards in the tourism sector.
Specifically, the action for domestic tourism ‘Amnesia estival’ won Gold for Best Film, while the international initiative ‘The Other Winter’ won Gold in the Best Integrated Campaign category and also won the Great Prize, the award given to the best of all the winners in all categories.
Both campaigns had Proximity BBDO as creative agency and Initiative as media agency.
As explained by the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands, Yaiza Castilla, “our main concern with our communication campaigns is to ensure a noticeable presence in the markets and become an aspirational destination, but if we also achieve recognition from advertising industry means the strategy is the right one.
Castilla details in a note that the public company Turismo de Islas Canarias emphasizes working on “the personalization and context of our promotional initiatives and, always hand in hand with technology, we demonstrate that we are a destination at the forefront of communication “.
The awards were handed out at the Wizink Center in Madrid and the director of Marketing Communications and Projects for Canary Islands Tourism, Alberto Ávila, was in charge of collecting the Gold achieved by the ‘Amnesia festival’ campaign.
This promotional action, aimed at promoting domestic tourism for the summer months, reached more than a million people through the videos, photographs and memes created and shared on their social networks by 13 ‘influencers’ and comedians from the islands.
In fact, the sense of humor was the great protagonist of this initiative, both in the advertisements launched on television, radio, press, internet and social networks as well as in the content generated by creators such as Gazz, Omayra Cazorla, Abubukaka or El Típico de Tenerife. .
For her part, Elena González, director of Communication Projects for End Clients and Professionals, collected the awards received by ‘The Other Winter’, the campaign launched in October last year in 16 European markets that managed to attract more of 2.5 million tourists.
This action, which recently won silver in the Digital Innovation category at the XX Edition of the JCDecaux Foreign Creativity Awards 2022, was based on technology to launch real-time ads highlighting the most relevant value of the destination in winter season, weather.
