Two Canarian doctors have been awarded at the IX edition of the Top Doctors awardsa contest in which national and international training, clinical skills, degree of specialization and the years of experience of these professionals.
This renowned annual list includes the 50 most voted Spanish doctors and medical specialists in private medicine by the medical community itself, although the opinion of their patients is also taken into account.
So the chosen ones are Manuel Diaz Cremades, Specialist in Hematology and Hemotherapy in Gran Canaria Y Jose Luis Rosales Alexander, medical specialist in rheumatology Tenerife.
Hematology
The Dr. Manuel Diaz Cremades it’s a great specialist in Hematology and Hemotherapy in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. He has many years of experience in the profession, having specialized in blood diseases, thrombosis, anemia, thrombophilia and platelet disorders. He combines his care work with teaching, being an associate professor of Medical Clinical Hematology at the University of Las Palmas since 1992. He is currently director of the Clinical Analysis Laboratory Dr. Díaz Y Head of the Hematology and Hemotherapy service of the Insular Hospital of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Rheumatology
The Dr. Jose Luis Rosales Alexander He is a great specialist in Rheumatology in Tenerife. He has more than 10 years of experience in the profession and extensive training in different areas of the specialty. Specifically, he is an expert in rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, autoimmune diseases, and pain management, among others. Throughout his career, he has combined his healthcare work with teaching, being a collaborating professor of the Master’s Degree in Rheumatic Diseases mediated by the Immune System of the Spanish Society of Rheumatology (SER), at the Rey Juan Carlos University, as well as director and speaker in numerous courses in the specialty. He also develops an important research and informative activity. He currently practices as a rheumatologist in Hospiten Rambla, Tamaragua Hospital Y South Hospital.

All voting they are compared with the evaluations of the patients, “to ensure that the winners have, in addition to the recognition of their peers, the confirmation by their patients as top-level professionals.”
These awards include the 50 Spanish doctors and specialists in private medicine most voted for by the medical community itself throughout the year among the 5,000 votes collected. Voting is based on the following criteria for each doctor: years of experience, national and international training, clinical skills, degree of specialization or positions of responsibility, among others.
In the survey, Top Doctors recommends that, together with the professional criteria mentioned above, they take into account when voting that they are doctors they would go to or recommend in the event of their own illness or that of a family member. In this edition, more than 5,000 recommendations from professionals have been collected, of which the 50 most valued have been selected.
The winners have the best scores recognized by patients. Given the importance of comments and ratings, due to their influence on the decision making for other patients, Top Doctors has implemented a verification system that guarantees the authenticity of the more than 235,000 opinions that are shared on the platform. Currently patients give a rating of 4.8 out of 5 to doctors. “75% of people consult the opinions before making a decision. For this reason, at Top Doctors, we guarantee the authenticity of all the opinions and we make sure that all the comments are real. To do this, we verify the evaluations through of an authentication system,” says Lorena Bassas, co-founder of Top Doctors.
