Christmas shopping arrives and, with them, so do the feared traffic jams in Santa Cruz. Nobody wants to stand still for hours at the entrance to the capital or inside one of the underground car parks that collapse during these dates.
In order to try to anticipate these situations and, if they occur, act to decongest the roads, the Local Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has activated a special traffic device.
Specifically, it will be the Traffic Control Room of the City Council that, given the foreseeable traffic jams in Santa Cruz this Christmas season and the high influx of people to the city’s commercial areas, will expand its operation for some key days.
Dates of the device against traffic jams in Santa Cruz
The days chosen for the device will be Sundays and opening holidays, between 10:00 and 22:00. On those dates, said room will support the work of the Local police, managing the traffic lights or controlling the bollards. The dates that the device will be active are: December 4, December 6, December 8, December 11, December 18 and December 26.
