The town of San Andrés hosted yesterday the celebration of the Anaga Traditions Day, organized by the Santa Cruz City Council, through the District Office, in collaboration with citizen entities and private residents. In this way, continuity is given to the initiative launched at the end of 2016, with a growing influx of public, coming from different locations.

The mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, together with the district mayor, Inmaculada Fuentes, toured the area adjacent to the Infobox. “If there is a district that stands out in the care and maintenance of its traditions, it is Anaga, where the residents of farmhouses, neighborhoods and towns stand out for preserving their identity within the municipality,” said Bermúdez.

From mid-morning, attendees had the opportunity to enjoy a program in which folklore and crafts went hand in hand, in the middle of a celebration open to an audience of all ages. Along these lines, the councilor was satisfied with the reception that this second edition has had, “consolidated as a day of coexistence for the inhabitants of Anaga and the promotion of their traditions.”

The activities planned within the craft fair, the market and the folkloric festival were combined with others of a children’s and youth nature, a wrestling and Canarian ball exhibition, a dessert and tortilla contest and ended with a concert by the Amigos del Art and the Paiba group.
