The Automated Treatment Center of Tenerife (CAT), located in Las Torres de Taco (La Laguna) and the Tegueste post office receive the trophy as winners of the Correos Environmental Commitment 2021 in their respective categories. In an act held a few days ago on the island of La Palma, the company awards the prizes and mentions to its teams and professionals in Canary Islands. Raising awareness of the importance of energy efficiency, recycling and responsible consumption have been the key to success.
The Automated Treatment Center obtained first place in Category A for energy efficiency, which encompasses large production centers, characterized by the use of automatic sorting and Equipped with the latest technology for monitoring and control of shipments that arrive from issuing centers or transport routes and are classified for final distribution.
The mixed office in Tegueste, with delivery service and customer service, achieved first place in the country for environmental commitment in Category C. The latter recognizes the best practices in energy efficiency in mainly operational centers such as post offices and delivery units.
This type of act is carried out in a decentralized way in the seven territorial areas of Correos to value the work carried out by the workers who have stood out for their excellent results throughout the previous year.
The classification center of Tenerife is the fifth time that it has been awarded at a national level since 2017. That first year it shared first place with the other center of the Insular Area with the same characteristics in the province of Las Palmas; in 2018 and 2020 it ranked third and in 2019, as in this edition, it took first national position in the ranking of Correos medium production centers. Likewise, the mixed office of Tegueste rose in 2020 with the second national position in this same modality and category.
The automatic sorting center and the post office have more than 100 environmentally conscious employees.
