SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 26 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Silbo Gomero Cultural Association and Rogelio Botanz have inaugurated today Saturday the new edition of La Noche en Blanco (LNB) in La Laguna with the already traditional whistled announcement, which traveled the longitudinal axis of this World Heritage city inviting neighbors, residents and visitors to enjoy more than twelve hours of live music, theater, humor, solidarity, activities for all ages, to learn about the great commercial and gastronomic offer of the historic center.
The mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, and the Councilor for Commerce and Economic Development, Aitami Bruno, accompanied by councilors from the government team and the Municipal Corporation, opened the doors of the House of Captains and let the giraffes out colors of Bolina Títeres and the music of the 101 Brass Band, who started the march for an event that is expected to attract thousands of people from all over the Island.
For the mayor, this is “a day of great joy that the lagoons and lagoons awaited with great enthusiasm, after several years of restrictions. Today La Noche en Blanco returns to our streets, along with the enthusiasm of the hundreds of people who are working to make this event unforgettable and that all those who visit us enjoy in style, a Lagoon that is more alive than ever”.
Aitami Bruno wanted to recall that they have had “a start in style, with the shopping streets full and with a very extensive program of activities at full capacity”. “We are enthusiastic about the great reception that we are having right from the start, with an influx of people that has exceeded all expectations from the very first hour and that, we believe, will be the tonic throughout the day, also due to the sun and good time that he is accompanying us”, he added.
The councilor also highlighted the positive messages she is receiving from the establishments in an event that is “leisure and culture, but, above all, wants to make visible the great gastronomic and commercial offer that we have in La Laguna.” Likewise, she thanked all the municipal areas and services for their “involvement and joint work so that this Noche en Blanco is a success.”
TRANSPORT AND PARKING
And to facilitate access to the city, in addition to a special security and emergency device, public transport has been reinforced throughout the day and 6 new temporary parking areas have been set up, which will add more than 5,000 extra spaces and will be They are located on the Anchieta university campus (Biology, Agrarian Engineering, Chemistry and Pharmacy parking lots), at CEIP Nuestra Señora del Consejo and Casa del Ganadero, these two on Avenida San Diego, and at the Alcampo La Laguna Shopping Center.
Metrotenerife line 1 will have double trams and a frequency of 10 minutes until 03:00, while Titsa will reinforce the lines that connect the Interchange with Santa Cruz, the North and the Northeast, with increased hours and seats on lines 014 , 015, 050 and 104, in addition to launching a free shuttle bus service, which will connect the car parks of the Alcampo La Laguna Shopping Center with the Laguna Interchange, directly and between 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and 3:00 a.m. on Sunday.
In addition, the taxi ranks in the town will be temporarily moved to nearby spaces to allow the development of the event and facilitate the mobility and service of the vehicles. Throughout the day, the stop on Avenida de La Trinidad will be relocated to number 32 of the same road (section between El Juego and Barcelona streets), in the direction of Padre Anchieta, and on Vía El Juego, from Alfredo street Torres Edwards to Avenida de La Trinidad (right bank of the road).
The stop on Calle Hermanos Marrero will be moved to Calle Marqués de Celada (between Las Carretas and Hermanos Marrero itself), while the one located in Plaza de San Francisco will move to Calle Quintín Benito, in a stretch of about 40 meters from Tabares de Cala.
MORE THAN A HUNDRED ACTIVITIES
This 2022 edition of La Noche en Blanco, which celebrates its 14th anniversary, will offer one of the best outdoor leisure and culture offers in the Canary Islands, with more than a hundred activities, two schedules (family and adult), ten scenarios, proposals itinerant visitors, a whole day of open doors and unique activities in the city’s monuments, entities and museums and, above all, an opportunity to get to know and enjoy its great commercial and gastronomic offer “lagooning” through the streets and squares full of history and legends of the only World Heritage city of the Archipelago.
LNB once again bets on prominent national, Canary and Laguna artists and companies to be the reference for the month of November in the regional events calendar, a lineup that will include the last concert on the Coque Malla Islands, after the announcement of its temporary withdrawal of the stages, in addition to the return of the giant dragons of Sarruga Teatro to the streets of the historic center, the always-awaited stage of humor or the first LNB White Vibes festival, with performances by Bejo and Sistah Vibes, among many others.
And, of course, a large array of fixed and traveling activities, all with free access, which will cover and fill the main streets and squares of the historic city with live music, street theatre, circus, puppets, sports, Meetings with athletes, the toy museum and superheroes, dancing, workshops or solidarity actions.
In addition to a broad campaign to promote and support the commercial sector, with its epicenter in Plaza de la Catedral and which, until 10:00 p.m., will offer live music from local artists, interviews, special guests, a prize wheel and discounts, and videos with all the promotions that the establishments have prepared for the day, an action that will be reinforced on an itinerant basis with mobile DJ booths that will invite people to discover the products and services of the local trade and restaurants.
INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE FUN
Likewise, for the first time in this lagoon event, LNB will have the local Orange Point, an initiative designed so that people with physical disabilities, both motor and sensory, and intellectual or developmental, can enjoy on equal terms a selection of the actions planned for this 14th edition, which have been adapted to guarantee the comfort of the users and where they will have spaces without barriers, sign language interpreters, sensitive backpacks, accompaniment and all the information and attention necessary to turn this LNB into the most inclusive in its history.
Likewise, La Noche en Blanco is committed to sustainability and, among other parallel actions, will have, in the Plaza del Adelantado and throughout the day, a secure parking area and recharging area with 100% clean energy for electric scooters and bicycles, a resource installed in a recycled container and adapted to house a complete photovoltaic installation.
