SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 26 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Technological and Renewable Energy Institute (ITER), has requested the Iberdrola company to immediately repair the electrical substation of Granadilla de Abona whose failure has caused the Areté and La Roca wind farms to remain without activity since last August 8.
As reported by the Cabildo, after a failure occurred in said substation on that date, ITER urgently carried out all the pertinent work to verify if the problem was in the operation of the wind turbines.
The Island Corporation has indicated that once any problem attributable to ITER was ruled out, an expert opinion was sent to the substation, which determined that there are technical problems outside the Institute and that they must be resolved by the substation owner.
The Cabildo has indicated that Iberdrola has already communicated that the necessary work will begin immediately to resolve the situation as soon as possible and that the ITER wind turbines can once again pour electricity into the grid.
