The Platform for the City’s Animals and Plants has disseminated numerous posters in Santa Cruz of Tenerife as a protest against pigeon capture that takes place in the capital of Tenerife.

“The capture is torture” or “no to the genocide of birds” are some of the slogans collected by the group, which ensures in its social networks that “birds, including pigeons, feed on insects”, which is why they are “very profitable as pest controllers”.

Despite the fact that the bird population has decreased and is more controlled, pigeons are still a problem in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, due to the large number of infectious diseases that they can transmit.
