There is a new location for the fans of CD Tenerife at the Estadio de Gran Canaria: the last sector of the South stand closest to the Naciente. LThe negative experience of the last derbies in the Siete Palmas venue, with the blue and white supporters located at a point between the South and Curva stands, which meant they had yellow fans both to the right and to the left, hIt made the security services reconsider a change, which, on the other hand, indicates directly to them: something had not been done right.
In the last meetings between UD and Tete on the island, in October of last year and five months ago, objects were thrown from one place to another and the goal is to prevent them from happening again. With the displacement towards the end of the South, the chicharrera fans will only have followers from Las Palmas to their left; to the right, the Nascent is at a lower level.
In addition, the sector where the 690 fans who will arrive from Tenerife hours before the matches will be located will be protected by a net that will extend on both sides and on the front, which makes it practically impossible for any object to enter or leave that area and cause damages. In a way, outsiders will be in a kind of cage.
new access
The change of site and the protection by means of a mesh are not the only modifications related to the fans of Tenerife, since the way to enter the Gran Canaria Stadium will also vary. Although until now it was done through the Grandstand after the buses coming from the port of Agaete deposited the supporters in the place, now they will do it through the Annex, which means that they will not have any contact, not even close, with any yellow buff.
Thus, the security protocol changes after the previous one was not effective enough. The same will not be applied only in the derby, but all the rival hobbies will be located in that last sector of the South attached to the Naciente.
The entrance of the ‘Tete’ fans to the venue will take place through the Annex and not through the Tribune
It is not the first time that there has been a change in this regard, but the second. At first, the rival fans, including those of Tenerife, were located in a sector between the Tribuna and Curva stands, and then moved to the place where they will have been until tomorrow, between La Curva and La Sur. The deduction, therefore, is that none of the options so far has been completely safe. Now, with the new location between the South and the East, the yellow entity is confident that they have definitely found a solution.
Despite the presence of numerous members of the different police forces, the presence of Las Palmas fans on one side and the other of the eternal rival, together with the absence of networks, caused various altercations in the last derbies that resulted in fines for UD , so the club wanted to remedy the situation.
From the entity they assure that the closeness that there will be between the 690 visitors and the most spirited group in Las Palmas, the Ultra Naciente rock, will not pose any problem due to the high jump between one stand and another and the presence of networks and police officers .
Thus, the stamp of the Siete Palmas venue tomorrow will be different from those of the last derbies. The entire stadium will be yellow except for the last sector of the South, which will wear the white and blue colors of Tenerife. There are 690 fans caged in the UD house.
