Two educational centers Canary Islands They are among the 15 winners of the XII edition of the Vicente Ferrer National Education for Development Award. It is the CEIP Camino Largo de La Laguna, in Tenerifeand the IES In Altavista de Arrecife, in Lanzarote.
The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation convenes each year together with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training these awards aimed at educational centers supported with public funds, both public and subsidized, in the levels of Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary Education, Adult Education, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training with the aim of rewarding fifteen educational experiences aimed at raising awareness, developing a critical spirit and encouraging the active participation of students to achieve global citizenship , supportive, committed to the eradication of poverty and its causes, as well as human and sustainable development.
The educational project of the IES En Altavista, recognized with the Vicente Ferrer Award, is entitled Level programming, for the improvement of educational success, focused on the reflective practice launched by the institute after confinement to meet the needs and challenges of today’s world.

The center’s management team reports that the objective was to “strengthen our center as a living health scenario, as a safe, healthy, welcoming and inclusive environment, where we can teach, learn and live with ourselves, in society and with the planet”.
The award-winning Canarian centers highlight the commitment and drive of the teaching teams so that these projects have succeeded even beyond the walls of these centers. They also agree that the projects seek to promote responsible citizenship.
