Guía de Isora and Vallehermos (La Gomera) celebrated the act of their twinning in the Plenary Hall of the Isorano City Council. Both municipalities made official the link that emerged with the migratory flows of Gomerans to this enclave in the south of Tenerife “in search of a better future”.
The event was presided over by the Isorana mayoress, Josefa Mesa, and the mayor of Vallehermoso, Emiliano Coello, together with councilors from both consistories, neighborhood groups and the parish priest of Guía de Isora.
After signing the document certifying the twinning, Vallehermoso received some prints by the Isoran painter Manuel Martín González y Guía de Isora, a commemorative plaque and a drum, a traditional instrument from La Gomera. There is also the circumstance that the swamp councilor was born in Fonsalía, while the Isorana mayoress was born in La Gomera.
