SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Science and Technology Park (PCTT), has presented Talent Week to value the innovative potential of the island’s companies and promote the generation of new employment opportunities linked to the field of new technologies.
The program includes the celebration of the XV Iberian Meeting of Science and Technology Parks of Spain and Portugal, which Tenerife is hosting for the first time, and the celebration of a new edition of Talentum Woman.
In the presentation of this congress, which will take place between November 22 and 24, the First Vice President and Island Councilor for Innovation, Enrique Arriaga, and the Island Director of Innovation, Aránzazu Artal, have participated.
Enrique Arriaga explained that “the Innovation area works on three fundamental lines that seek to support with advice all entrepreneurs who want to start their projects, collaborate with mature companies in the process of growth and internationalization and attract companies and foreign investment so that they establish themselves in Tenerife, generating wealth and employment”.
The counselor assured that these are the objectives pursued by Talent Week, since it “will highlight the innovative capacity of companies and entrepreneurs on the Island, as well as the potential of technologies to generate business opportunities in segments with great demand for qualified professionals. In addition, he stressed that this congress will undoubtedly be the icing on the cake in the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the PCTT that will take place in 2022.
The island’s director of Innovation, Aránzazu Artal, highlighted the Talentum Woman program, which is not the first time it has been held and will serve to promote the business ideas of female entrepreneurs from Tenerife. Along these lines, she highlighted that the programming includes the presentation of the projects participating in the previous edition, Uva de Guanche and Beatfit, which will serve for their creators to tell the participants about their experiences and the challenges they have faced in their developing “.
Regarding the XV Iberian Meeting, Artal assured that it is a unique opportunity for Tenerife since it will bring together more than fifty experts to analyze the situation and the challenges of the Innovation area. Likewise, he highlighted that the motto of the program, Generating an economy of talent, fits perfectly with the rest of the projects that are being developed in the area this week.
XV IBERIAN MEETING OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PARKS
The Science and Technology Park of Tenerife (PCTT), the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain and the Portuguese Association of Science and Technology Parks organize this event that brings together representatives of the Spanish and Portuguese parks, with the aim of reinforcing cooperation in innovation among its companies and R&D entities. This will serve to analyze the possibilities of collaboration and increase the role of the Iberian alliance in European innovation policies.
Programming will begin on Tuesday, November 22. During this day, attendees will enjoy a presentation by the vice president of the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain, Josep Miquel Piqué, and will attend different round tables and Elevator Pitch in which representatives of different parks and companies will participate. Next, the facilities of the NanoTEC and IACtec centers will be visited to attend a demonstration of the work carried out in their facilities.
On Wednesday, November 23, the event will take place at the Teide National Park Visitor Center. In addition, the next organizing park of the 2023 Iberian Meeting will be presented and a visit to Teide will be made.
TALENTED WOMAN
Specifically, Talentum Woman will have two days that will take place on Tuesday 22 and Thursday 24 November. In the first, the project exhibition act will take place. Among them, a selection of 6 finalists will be made to participate in DemoDay, which will be held on the second day and will culminate with the awarding of awards to the three most promising initiatives. In addition, during this last day the Pitch Dating will take place, a meeting between a specialist and an entrepreneur to present the project in order to obtain the specialist’s feedback.
The objectives of this program are to promote the figure of women in entrepreneurship, promote technological progress and local economic development in Tenerife and give visibility to the trajectory of successful businesswomen, both regionally and nationally.
