The Santa Cruz City Council, through the Autonomous Organization for Festivities and Recreational Activities (Oafar), yesterday approved the bases that will govern the 2023 Carnival queen contests in its three modalities, children, adults and adults, which will be held on next February 5, 8 and 15, respectively.
The decision approved, after the meeting of the Governing Council of Oafar, incorporates into the regulatory bases, the main agreements made in the successive meetings between the organization and the group of designers.
For the mayor of Fiestas, Alfonso Cabello, “these bases are the result of dialogue between all parties and have only one objective: to take our finery to higher levels of excellence.”
Cabello recalls that “barely two months before the official start of the Carnival, the administration and the groups are working to have everything ready in a timely manner”, for which she announces that “the designers will have until November 30 to pre-register their candidates to queen”.
