The Governing Board of Santa Cruz plans to award today the remodeling works of the la rosa street to the company Ferrovial Construcciones, for 4,385,955 million, as advanced by DIARIO DE AVISOS. The winning bid is almost one million below the bidding base budget of 5.2 million. The maximum execution period will be two years, counting from the signing of the reconsideration verification certificate, which will foreseeably be in the middle of next year, always in coordination with neighbors and merchants and matching the beginning of the provisional parking spaces. which will be located on the site that the City Council intends to acquire, on the same street, to alleviate the loss of parking spaces caused by the work.
It must be taken into account that the action in this street contemplates the elevation of the ground level for the creation of a single platform, just as the Urban zone is presented right now, with a complete delimitation of the uses by means of the different pavements. This means reconsidering the axis of the road for vehicle traffic and parking lines, beautifying the street with trees that provide shaded areas and their corresponding irrigation network, and accessible street furniture.
The pertinent works will also be carried out to renew the public lighting network on sidewalks and underground services (water and sanitation), as well as other services, such as telecommunications and electricity and a new drainage network for rainwater.
The mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, highlights that “the award of the remodeling of La Rosa street, in El Toscal, is done with the intention of creating a more pedestrian-friendly space and proceeding to beautify a of the main areas of communication between the Almeida barracks and Tres de Mayo, one of the main arteries of the city” and adds that “this action, once completed, will make it possible to have a perfectly accessible street with wider sidewalks, designed , fundamentally, for pedestrian and commercial use”.
For his part, the mayor of Works, Dámaso Arteaga, confirms that “the award of the remodeling of Calle de La Rosa involves an investment of around 4.3 million and has an execution period of around 24 months, after the act of rethinking” and details that “the work will have a finish similar to that of Imeldo Serís”.
