On December 22, 2022, the Extraordinary Christmas Lottery Draw at the Teatro Real in Madrid, which this year will distribute 2,520 million euros in prizes and which is by far the date that arouses the most excitement throughout the country and that every Canarian has marked on their calendar. And, why not, it is also the ideal time to get to know some of the lottery administrations in Tenerife that have distributed the most prizes.
For this year’s Draw, 180 million Lottery tickets have been put up for sale, that is, 180 series, 8 more than last year. The first prize, the ‘Fat’, will distribute 400,000 euros to the tenth, the second 125,000 and the third 50,000.
In 2021, the Christmas Lottery Draw left 163 million euros in the Archipelago, mainly thanks to the fact that the ‘Gordo’ fell in Gran Canaria. Five of the eight islands received awards, all but La Gomera, El Hierro and La Graciosa.
San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Puerto de La Cruz, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Telde are the luckiest municipalities in the Canary Islands with the ‘Gordo’ of the Extraordinary Draw of the Christmas Lottery, when the first prize falls between three and four times in these locations. Meanwhile, Arrecife, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Granadilla de Abona and Los Realejos have received the ‘Gordo’ on two occasions.

La Chasnera (Granadilla de Abona)
