SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 18 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Parliament of the Canary Islands will host the meeting ‘Dialogues for equality. In the footsteps of Clara Campoamor’, a forum where the legislative and social advances experienced in Spain and the Canary Islands in recent decades in favor of equality between women and men will be analyzed.
Organized by the Parliament of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo de Tenerife in the hands of SER Canarias, the event will be moderated by the journalist Lourdes Santana, regional director of SER Canarias and will have the participation of the vice president of the Parliament, Rosa Dávila, the rector of the ULL, Rosa Aguilar, the director of the Canarian Institute for Equality, Kika Fumero, the Councilor for Social Action of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Marián Franquet, and the president of the Fecam and mayoress of Candelaria, María Brito.
The president of the Chamber, Gustavo Matos, points out in a note that progress continues in the objective of this tenth legislature of opening and bringing the institution closer to the citizenry, generating spaces for reflection on all those issues that are of interest to them.
“We want Parliament to be a place for permanent debate that society and its institutions must maintain, going beyond the legislative and control functions of the Government that are its own,” he says.
