The Island Water Council of the Council of Tenerife has awarded the rehabilitation works of the Güímar wastewater pumping station for a value of 230,787 euros.
The Councilor for Sustainable Development and the Fight Against Climate Change of the Cabildo, Javier Rodríguez, explained in a statement that the situation of wastewater treatment in the Güímar Valley requires differentiated attention, on which both in the start-up of the Urban Wastewater Treatment Plant as well as the solutions that have been carried out in the Industrial Estate.
“We are facing the rehabilitation and commissioning of an infrastructure that was out of use, commissioned at the time by the Government of the Canary Islands and that it had been left unfinished”, the counselor added.
For this reason, it has argued that “Now it is the turn to undertake the rehabilitation of this infrastructure, which will be one more step to complete the road map of the pending issue with the Güímar Valley”, and has indicated that the award will have a period of six months.
