In Santa Cruz there are approximately 35,700 points of light, of which 5,122 are luminaires with LED technology. An energy efficiency that will be improved thanks to the new public lighting contract that began to be executed on October 1 and that will proceed, within the energy saving works, to switch to LED technology for some 900 luminaires a year. Thus, at the end of the contract, it is planned to replace a total of 4,500 public lighting points, with the investment during this entire period being around 4,275,000 euros.
In this way the mayor of Public services, Carlos Tarife, in the response given to the PSOE who was interested in this matter. As far as energy saving is concerned, the new company will carry out an energy audit, as well as a lighting map to improve lighting.
According to the planned schedule, the Los Alisios area will be the first to have the lights changed. Next year changes will be addressed in Barranco Grande, Añaza, Residencial Anaga, Miraflores and surroundings, García Sanabria, Álvarez de Lugo with Ramón y Cajal, or Vistabella.
