Canarian airports have registered 3.9 million travelers in October, which represents a 6.1% increase in passenger traffic compared to the same month of 2019, according to data from Aena.
Of the total number of passengers on commercial flights (3,968,613), 1,662,785 correspond to national traffic, 6.3% more than in the same month of 2019, and 2,305,828 to international traffic, 6% more.
The Canary airports with the highest passenger traffic were Gran Canaria, Tenerife Sur and César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport with 1,136,211 (+4.5%), 965,129 (+4.6%), and 680,525 (+11%). ) respectively.
They are followed by Fuerteventura Airport, with 531,040 (+9.5%); Tenerife North-City of La Laguna, with 520,576 (+2.9%); La Palma, with 127,063 (+5.3%); El Hierro, with 25,284 (+12.6%); and La Gomera, with 8,591 passengers (+41.8%).
As for freight traffic, 2,531 tons were transported, a figure that represents a recovery of 79.9% compared to the same month of 2019.
In relation to the number of operations in October, 36,185 movements were recorded, which represents 6.1% more than the operations compared to the same month of 2019.
Between January and October, the number of passengers registered at Canarian airports amounts to 35,321,208, with a recovery of 94.6% compared to the same period in 2019, prior to the pandemic.
Of the total commercial passengers (34,992,351), 14,823,130 correspond to domestic flights, which represents a recovery of 97% compared to the same months of 2019; and 20,169,221 to international flights, a 92.7% recovery compared to the same period in 2019.
The number of movements registered between January and October 2022 was 331,241, with a recovery of 97.2% compared to the same period in 2019, and the merchandise traffic recorded so far is 25,726 tons, which represents a recovery 84.4% of the figures compared to the accumulated figure for 2019.
