Twelve restaurants in La Matanza de Acentejo join the first gastronomic route of the Chestnutan initiative that is part of the celebration of the month of this fruit, a gastronomic product that is also part of the landscape of the Acentejo region.
As in other contests with similar characteristics, this month the participating restaurants offer a special dish made with chestnuts that will be scored by the diners.

Throughout November, the municipality will host activities with the chestnut as the protagonist, ranging from hiking trails, walks among chestnuts, a children’s party and cooking workshops. To all this is added the traditional gastronomic fair, which returns to the Farmer’s Market on the 26th and 27th of this month after three years of pandemic, in which you can taste exquisite tapas at the price of two and three euros accompanied by good wine and party music.
The program was presented yesterday at City Hall by the First Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Agriculture, Miguel Ángel Pérez Pío, and the Island Director of Agriculture, Cayetano José Silva.
It was the latter who underlined the commitment of the Council of Tenerife for kilometer zero products and emphasized that the program of activities will make the region and La Matanza de Acentejo, in particular, an attractive place of reference for both tourists and residents.
