The Santa Cruz Tourist Information Servicedependent on the Development Society, has launched two free tourist routes with the aim of bring history to its visitors and the culture of the city. This was communicated by the mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, who explained that “both the ‘Historic Route through Santa Cruz de Tenerife’ and the ‘Botanical Route through the García Sanabria Park’ will provide a new leisure alternative based on the events that have become the heart of Tenerife”.

“These routes have been conceived as a way to continue improving the tourist offer of the capital -declared Bermúdez-, with the aim that our visitors discover the most emblematic corners and places of the city” and added that “it is an action aligned with the different campaigns to promote the destination carried out at the national level, where an online programmatic campaign is being carried out, as well as an action in the back of buses in the north of the peninsula”.

For his part, the CEO of the Development Society, Alfonso Cabello, has reported that “both routes are aimed at residents and tourists, will be taught simultaneously in English and Spanish and are routes of low difficulty and accessible to people with mobility problems. mobility” and specified that “these tourism products respond to tourists who arrive on cruise ships and want to get to know the city in a few hours, to those who stay in Santa Cruz and seek to enrich their stay, and to national and foreign visitors who arrive from other parts of the island to get to know the capital”.

Regarding the ‘Historic route through Santa Cruz de Tenerife’, Cabello indicated that “it is a circular itinerary that begins in the Plaza de España and ends in the Plaza de La Candelaria, passing through points of tourist interest in the city such as the Church of Our Lady of La Concepción, the Guimerá Theater, the Museum of Fine Arts or the Círculo de la Amistad XII de Enero” and pointed out that “this route will take place every day at 12:00 noon and lasts one hour and a half and 1.5 kilometers”.

“As for the ‘Botanical Route through the García Sanabria Park’, in addition to reviewing the history of this enclave, you will be able to discover the curiosities of the different plant species that inhabit it”, commented the mayor, adding that “in this case , the route will take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11:00 a.m., it starts at the park’s Flower Clock and lasts two hours and a distance of one kilometer “.

Likewise, Cabello has stressed that “the ‘Historic Route through Santa Cruz de Tenerife’, being a product designed to consolidate and improve the city’s tourist offer, is expected to continue to be provided throughout 2023″ and specified that ” The ‘Botanical Route through the García Sanabria Park’ is organized by the student-worker of the ‘PFAE-GJ Enjoy Santa Cruz V’ project, so it can only be enjoyed until January 30”.

In this sense, the mayor reported that “it is the student-worker of the ‘PFAE-GJ Enjoy Santa Cruz V’ who provides the service of the botanical route, within the framework of the project’s program of actions, since it is of a public employment and training program that is co-financed by the European Social Fund and the Canarian Employment Service, framed in the National Youth Guarantee System of the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy and executed by the Development Society”.

Finally, the mayor recalled that “in parallel, within the framework of the Commercial Areas Revitalization Plan, the historical-commercial routes are being carried out, whose next appointments will take place on Saturday, October 29 with the tours of the neighborhood of La Gallega and the Cabo Llano area – Avenida Tres de Mayo” and added that “new dates for this initiative will be announced in the coming weeks”.
