The meeting of the Taxi Board held this Monday in the City Hall of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has settled with the agreement to promote a consultation with the professionals in the sector to reduce the number of units on the street from 80% to 60% when no cruise ships are scheduled to arrive.
The initiative, which came from one of the majority associations of taxi drivers in the capital, will be submitted to the scrutiny of the sector within 15 days.
At today’s meeting, the study of the price of the license at the time of redemption was also analyzed, the consideration of which raises the amount for each license to be redeemed in the planned plan to 37,000 euros.
The appropriate documentation is already in the possession of the Cabildo, as requested in order to sign the agreement with the City Council.
The study commissioned by the City Council raises some 582 units as necessary in the city. There are currently 732.
