The science fair oldest of Canary Islands and the second of all Spain returns this Sunday, November 13 to the Plaza del Quiosco in La Orotava. Linares stressed that “this unique fair is a reference in Spain and a unique sample in Canary Islands». In its almost two decades of history, it has had the participation of the main research centers on the islands, scientific associations and foundations. Previous editions in which it has received the visit of more than 55,000 people who have been able to participate in experiments, exhibitions, scientific demonstrations, astronomical observations or planetariums.
After two editions marked by health restrictions, this Sunday “the largest scientific outreach event on the islands returns to the central plaza of the islands with the edition with the largest number of participating entities in its history,” he stressed. Criticism of the Cabildo and the Canarian Government for not collaborating
Linares regrets that this fair does not have the support of the Government of the Canary Islands or the Cabildo de Tenerife in 2022: «It is inadmissible, inconceivable and unacceptable that both public institutions do not support an exhibition of this magnitude; unique in the archipelago. The mayor points out that “when supporting these rigorous and interesting initiatives, it should not matter where they are carried out.”
