The Santa Cruz Refinery continues to advance in its dismantling process with the dismantling of another four production units. This is stated in the petition addressed to the Canary Islands Government to modify the environmental authorization based on the elimination of these facilities, a request that has been approved by the Ministry of Ecological Transition. As stated in the Government authorization, published yesterday in the BOC, the purpose of the request is the dismantling, removal and transport of structures, both metallic and reinforced concrete, enclosures, equipment, pipes, wiring, electrical switchgear and accessories of four units.
This is the complete dismantling of the Visbreaker units, dedicated to reducing the viscosity of oil; hydrodesulfurization 1, dedicated to the elimination of sulfur; of the thermal plant, which includes the dismantling of the compressed air generation installation; and the demineralization plant. In addition, the partial dismantling of the Cotesa part is planned, which includes the water treatment plant, the gas turbine and the compressor.
