The Primary Care Management of the Health Area of Tenerife has launched a workshop for caregivers to train them on techniques and skills to take into account when carrying out their work in caring for the elderly and dependents.
As reported by the Ministry of Healththe workshop, which is taking place at the Orotava-San Antonio Health Center, is being taught by Nursing, Family Medicine, Nursing and Social Work assistants from this Basic Health Zone.
The activity began last September and will continue until November 18. In the sessions, which are held every week, the people who make up the group come to the center to share their experiences and improve, even more so, the care of their relatives and dependents in their charge.
For its part, the workshop allows them to create a meeting point where they find the support of other people who find themselves in similar situations and where synergies are created aimed at improving the health of both the caregiver and the person who receives this care.
Finally, the Tenerife Primary Care Management has highlighted that this initiative is an example of the importance of bringing community activities in health to all corners of the island.
