The Government of the Canary Islands has authorized the Ministry of Social Rights, Equality, Diversity and Youth to grant monetary contributions to the Canarian town councils to finance the development of the Corresponsables Plan during the year 2022, for an amount of 3,872,620.40 euros.
This amount represents the second contribution for the development of the Corresponsables Plan granted to the Canarian municipalities this year (the first amounted to 6.1 million euros), for which the Canarian town councils have received through this plan in 2022 a total of 10 million euros.
The funds are part of the allocation of 9.8 million euros approved within the Sectoral Conference on Equality held in February 2022, collects a note from the Government.
The Joint Responsibility Plan, promoted by the Secretary of State for Equality and against Gender Violence of the Ministry of Equality, was approved by the Council of Ministers in March 2021 with the aim of favoring the reconciliation of families through the joint responsibility of the Administration in the care of children.
This plan, managed by the Vice-Ministry of Equality and Diversity, dependent on the Department of Social Rights, is financed with finalist funds from the Ministry of Equality.
Its actions will be carried out mainly through the municipalities and the funding is intended to financially endow actions aimed at facilitating the reconciliation of families with minors and young people up to 16 years of age, from an equality approach between women and men, through the constitution of professional care exchanges and with the creation of quality employment in the care sector.
