The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, stated this Thursday that the insular corporation is “dissatisfied” with the delay of the construction works of the footbridge of the roundabout of the Father Anchietain La Laguna, and for this reason, they have warned the winning joint venture that if it does not solve the problems, a file will be opened to terminate the contract and even to disable the work and be able to present it to public tenders.
“We have called the company a chapter”, commented the president in an interview granted to Radio Club Tenerife and which was picked up by Europa Press. In it, he acknowledged that the prices of materials “have risen” and that they have not refused to modify the rates, but he makes it clear that the current rate “is not possible”.
Martín has insisted that they will reach “the final consequences” if there is no progress and he does not understand that after a year they are still waiting for the metal structure to arrive, which represents 80% of the project.
The work, with a budget of 8.8 million, will be executed as a continuous curved ring-shaped beam approximately 100 meters in diameter, supported by a system of punctual supports, with a square attached to the current car park of the Faculty of Biology from the University of La Laguna, and a total length of the ring of about 314 meters.
