Three medals for the Piedra Fluida winery in the largest Chinese competition

A winery in the north of Tenerife, Piedra Fluida, has won three outstanding prizes in the largest and most influential wine and spirits competition in the Chinese market. The contest was held in Madrid last week, due to the fact that there are still restrictions in China due to covid-19.

The Piedra Fluida winery, which has its vineyards in the municipality of Santa Úrsula and its winery in La Orotava, received a gold and two silver medals, according to the GastroCanarias specialized gastronomy portal. These medals will pave the way for promotion in the Asian giant market.

The three award-winning wines were Piedra Fluida Los Frontones 2021, a 100% white listán, awarded a Gold Medal in the category Whites Without Crianza above 15 euros; Piedra Fluida Ojitos 2020, which with black list received the Silver Medal in the Red Wines category with up to 12 months of aging between 5 and 15 euros; and finally another Silver Medal for the Piedra Fluida Vidal 2020.

in the G100 a total of 46 prizes were awarded to the participating wines, 2 major Golds, 21 Gold medals and 23 Silver medals. With all the award-winning wines, promotional actions will be carried out among Chinese professionals in the sector through digital platforms such as We Chat or Wineseer, although the wines awarded with Grand Gold and Gold will be offered to participate in Off Line events. which from the G 100 Committee organizes in more than 20 cities in China such as Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Dongguan, Xi’an. That as long as the sanitary conditions of the Asian country allow it.

The Piedra Fluida winery begins its journey with the 2018 harvest, when it prepares the winery, which is currently located in the municipality of La Orotava, to process the grapes from its own vineyards that it has been acquiring since 2016 in the municipality of Santa Ursula.

Its name comes from volcanic activity. As noted on its website, “the lava and ashes accumulated since the Tertiary have given the wines born in these lands a complex character with fresh and persistent flavors.” “Exceptional limited production wines that keep the secrets from the depths of the Earth,” clarifies the wine brand.
