Two poachers arrested after killing a mouflon in Tenerife

Two poachers have been arrested for having killed a mouflon in the Lunar Landscape area, in Vilaflor (Tenerife). The men were surprised by agents of the Nature Protection Service (Seprona) in coordination with rural guards of the Federation of Hunting Management of Tenerife and with agents of the Cabildo Environment, after receiving a citizen complaint.

The alerter explained that he had seen how a person shot a mouflon with a shotgun in a special hunting control area and that, with the help of another, he was preparing to move the body of the lifeless animal.

Both were located in the vicinity where one of them had hidden among the pine needles. They also found the mouflon nearby, although they tried to hide his body.

The Civil Guard details that these two people have been denounced for lacking a controlled hunting permit, necessary for hunting in special hunting control areas, for using the weapon in said area, for hunting during the closed season (poaching) and for not having the health certificate for the hunting dog they had with them.
