The Telesforo Bravo-Juan Coello Foundation has demanded “courage” from the Government of the Canary Islands to approve the new Master Plan for Use and Management (PRUG) of the Teide National ParkY not stop it in the face of the social response that has accompanied the document during the processing process.
In its social networks, the environmental and scientific dissemination foundation points out that the Teide National Park it is at least one of the most threatened natural spaces in the State and expresses its conviction that it is urgent to have an updated PRUG to replace the previous obsolete one.
“There were many allegations presented and we are aware of the enormous work that technicians are facing to address and answer them, but we are very concerned that given the controversy and social protest that has accompanied the processing process and the upcoming regional and local elections, the political leaders of the Government of the Canary Islands decide to stop and not approve a new PRUG in this legislature”, adds the Foundation.
For this reason he claims “courage and decision” to face the serious problems that the Park has and for that it is essential to approve a PRUG that puts the conservation of the natural values that gave rise to its declaration at the center of its management, as the regulations say, concludes the environmental foundation.
