SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 28 Oct. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Civil Guard continues to carry out various prevention services on the island of La Palma in relation to the emergency caused by the volcanic eruption with the aim of continuing to ensure the physical integrity of all citizens.
Specialists from the Civil Guard of the NRBC Central Operational Unit (nuclear, radiological, biological and chemical) and the Subsoil Reconnaissance Unit regularly displaced from Madrid to the island of La Palma, have recently been carrying out measurements of the levels of gases in the areas of La Bombilla and Puerto Naos, as well as in the area of the volcanic cone, places where the measurement of gases continues to be very high, so staying in these areas poses a high risk to health.
In addition, measurements have been carried out jointly with Firefighters from the municipality of Los Llanos de Aridane in some of the homes in Puerto Naos, highlighting that these levels, in some points, are still very high.
The Civil Guard again reiterates to all citizens residing in the areas affected by the volcanic eruption on the island of La Palma, to follow the recommendations that the competent authorities are permanently establishing to protect them from the serious dangers that these levels of harmful gases entail.
