SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 29 Oct. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Podemos Canarias has started this Saturday the ‘Building the Future’ cycle, a route that will take the main leaders and public officials of the purple formation to tour the Islands “collecting the concerns, talent and proposals of Canarian society” with the aim to incorporate them into the “Archipelago project” in the preparation of which they are immersed.
This has been stated by the leader of Podemos Canarias, Laura Fuentes, who has chosen that the first stop of ‘Building the Future’ is ‘La Poeteca’ in La Laguna, the first library in the Canary Islands specialized in poetry located in the municipality of Tenerife.
Laura Fuentes has highlighted the “enormous enthusiasm” with which the formation embarks on this cycle, as well as the “honor” that implies that the first step of the journey is at the headquarters of “an example of the avant-garde cultural dynamics that currently populate the islands and represents the verification that the collaboration between artists, civil society and public institutions yields results of enormous value for the Archipelago”.
Ramiro Rosón, director of ‘La Poeteca’, has defined it as “a project to promote the reading and dissemination of poetry” created by the Tres Orillas Cultural Association with the collaboration of the La Laguna City Council.
This initiative, launched in June 2021, has had the presence of different authors from the local, national and international spheres, and has a collection of nearly 1,000 titles linked to the poetic genre.
For Fuentes, who has been accompanied by Cristo González, island councilor for Sí Podemos Canarias in the Cabildo de Tenerife, “poetry offers us tools to think about reality beyond the immediate and allows us to imagine new and hopeful scenarios.”
“We thank ‘La Poeteca’ and Ramiro Rosón for the work they put on the table to make the Canary Islands a land in which beauty, reflection and creativity become elements that define our life as a people”, he concluded.
