SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 28 Oct. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The vice president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Enrique Arriaga (Cs), has advanced this Friday that the corporation’s intention is to put out to tender the construction of the Motor Circuit in December or January “if there are no unforeseen events.”
In response to a question from the CC-PNC in the plenary session of the Cabildo, they have indicated that they want to close an “unblemished file” so as not to take any “false step” and what happened in 2016 again, when the project was paralyzed.
He has commented that phase 1, that of the accesses, “is almost finished”, and recalled that the last CC government hardly left Gestur with project assignments, which were completed in September, three years after the start of the Legislature .
Arriaga has insisted that the government group is taking the project “seriously” and they are “rigorous”, the specifications are finished and additional reports have been requested to “not screw up” and that everything is legally guaranteed so that it does not happen the same as with the urbanization of Cuna del Alma, where reports are lacking.
He has accused the Canary Coalition (CC) of delaying the start of the works due to the rejection of the credit modification of five million euros and has ironized with putting the name “Canarian Coalition” to the circuit before the claim of the project at the hands of the counselor Verónica Messeguer.
“Reluctantly, the circuit is going to move forward, don’t worry,” he snapped.
Messeguer has said that the government group has spent three years without “doing anything” in this mandate, only administering the “inheritance” of CC, and has commented that the recognition that the works are not going to be put out to tender this year shows that it was right when requesting a multi-year investment of the circuit, the five million of the credit modification will not be invested.
He has asked Arriaga not to “get medals” with a work of the accesses that was stopped for more than a year, defending that the modification of the project was promoted by CC in 2018 and he also did the previous work to undertake the international homologations.
The nationalist counselor has criticized that the insular government has organized “an event of 600,000 euros of public money – that is the full amount of the promotional campaign – to be self-promoting” and “deceiving” the users of the circuit, highlighting, as an anecdote when the presenter of the gala, Antonio Lobato, told the president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín, “address your voters.”
