More than a million passengers have chosen Fred’s Trimaran Route. Olsen Express in its first year

More than a million passengers and 16,000 pets have chosen the Fred’s Trimaran Route. Olsen Express, which connects Agaete and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in his first year. This route is characterized by its comfort, thanks to the stability with which these trimarans navigate, as well as its speed. Specifically, one of the aspects most valued by passengers is punctuality, with 97.10% of trips arriving on time or even ahead of time.

The Trimaran Route stands out for its energy efficiency, smoothness and stability during navigation, thanks to the incorporation of the new generation Bajamar Express and Bañaderos Express trimarans. These ships are considered the most sophisticated internationally, as they are characterized by innovative technology that allows navigation to be adapted to weather conditions.

During these first 12 months, the trimarans on the route have made 4,790 trips, traveling a total of 172,242 nautical miles (319,418 km) between the two islands, offering an optimal travel experience and a service of maximum comfort.

The vessels of the Trimaran Route have also moved a total of 381,600 vehicles and 462,700 cargo units in this first year.

On the occasion of the celebration of the first anniversary of the Trimaran Route, Fred. Olsen Express offers a special promotion, between October 26 and November 2, with up to a 30% discount and the option of accumulating triple Plus points with the company’s loyalty system on tickets purchased to travel between Gran Canaria-Tenerife. Travelers who take advantage of this promotion will be able to enjoy the trip between the capital islands from November 15 to January 31, except for high occupancy times.

An ‘outstanding’ route that stands out for its punctuality and smooth navigation

Inside of politics quality, Fred. Olsen Express conducts passenger satisfaction surveyswho have rated the Trimaran Route with an average of 9.01 out of 10 and a satisfaction level of ‘outstanding‘ according to 77% of users.

Fred’s Director of Fleet. Olsen Express, Juan Ignacio Liaño, is satisfied with the balance of the first year: “A year ago we inaugurated the Trimarán Route as part of our commitment to sustainability and quality of transport service. Undoubtedly, the best recognition of this effort is the great acceptance by the passengers who have chosen us and who in 77% of cases have rated the service as outstanding. This result encourages us to continue innovating and investing to maintain our leadership in sustainability and high speed.”

The addition of the trimarans places Fred. Olsen Express as the pioneer company in the use of this type of shipsand position Canary Islands as a reference destination in sustainable maritime connectivity.

The Bajamar Express has been recognized as a relevant ship (significant ship) of the year 2020 by the Royal Association of Naval Engineers of the United Kingdom (RINA, for its acronym in English), one of the most important professional entities in the sector of design, construction, maintenance and operation of vessels and marine structures. Specifically, it has highlighted the Bajamar Express for its sustainable materials that reduce fuel consumption, emissions and the impact on the environment.

For its part, the Bañaderos Express trimaran has received the Shippax Fast Ferry Award 2022 recognition for its commitment to sustainability, as it is considered “an integral part of the green future of travel and an efficient alternative to maritime traffic”.
