CC demands “an immediate solution” for social and health care in Tenerife

The group of Canarian Coalition-Canary Nationalist Party (CC-PNC) in the Cabildo de Tenerife yesterday denounced the “serious situation” of the centers dependent on the IASS “due to the poor” management of the PSOE, and lamented that “the social management of Pedro Martín and Marián Franquet is disastrous ». The nationalist spokesman, Carlos Alonso, and the deputy for Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, explained the situation yesterday at a press conference in which they demanded “an immediate solution to care for patients in a dignified manner.”

Alonso specified that the situation in Tenerife today is that of “a demand for 7,000 residential places, according to the data provided by the Cabildo.” And he added: “In the previous mandate the figure was around 3,500 people.” He then added that “this is due to the paralysis and neglect of Pedro Martín and Marián Franquet.”

«In 2019 we planned twenty actions of the Social and Health Infrastructure Plan of the IASS to create 2,500 new places. It was an investment of 90 million euros between 2019-2022, but the PSOE paralyzed it. Many of these beds could have already been in operation,” said Carlos Alonso.

The CC spokesman criticized the fact that they have now announced that they are processing the construction of nine senior centers with 639 places. “But we are afraid that they are only advertisements. In 2020 they said that they would transfer the patients from Febles Campos and they have not done so, ”said the nationalist.
