The Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, has claimed this Friday the “planning” of the vaccine strategy, as was done with the covid-19 “roadmap”, to improve cohesion between all the autonomous communities and continue taking steps in “co-governance”.
In statements to journalists on the occasion of a visit to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands (HUC), he highlighted the work of the vaccine presentation that culminated in the agreement this Thursday in the Public Health commission to vaccinate children of 12 years against the human papillomavirus (HPV), giving the autonomous communities until 2024.
He has also said that it was agreed to vaccinate minors from 6 months to 54 years of age against the flu, among other things because this season “is going to come with an important condition” hence the “convenience” of the “double vaccination” together to covid-19.
The minister has detailed that 35% of those over 80 years of age are already vaccinated and 14% over 60 years of age at a time when the “rhythm is increasing” in all communities, stressing that it is also “very important” that health and socio-health personnel be vaccinated to “maintain community immunity” which has allowed life to develop normally in Spain.
He has also reviewed the extraordinary staff stabilization process that is being carried out, in development of Law 20/2021, to reduce temporary employment in public employment, and announced that the Human Resources Commission, in which he participated early in the morning, has concluded with a unanimous agreement to establish the common criteria for this stabilization process.
In addition, he recalled that, with this process, more than 67,000 places will be stabilized throughout Spain, the largest in the history of the National Health System, of which more than 12,000 will be in the Canary Islands.
This process “represents a before and after” to put an end to the high temporality of health professionals, said the minister, who pointed out that, for the future, the limitation of this temporality has been regulated thanks to the reform of the Framework Statute , which was approved unanimously in the Congress of Deputies.
