SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 17 Oct. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Highways area, has completed the drafting of the project to rehabilitate a section of the surface of the TF-28 island highway, also known as the general highway of the south. The works will take place in the municipality of Arona between the towns of Valle San Lorenzo and La Camella.
The First Vice President and Minister of Roads, Enrique Arriaga, explained that this project “will allow the improvement of more than five kilometers of the road, with the rehabilitation of the pavement, improvement of the containment systems and the current signaling”. He assured that, in this way, “not only will mobility improve, but the safety of road users will also be guaranteed.”
Arriaga added that since the beginning of the mandate the Cabildo “has been committed to improving the island’s roads and, specifically on the TF-28, work has already been carried out in areas such as Candelaria, Arafo and Güímar. With this we will achieve a notable improvement in the comfort, safety and portability of the road, a demand that the residents of the southern region have been demanding for a long time”.
For his part, the insular director of Highways, Tomás Félix García, explained that 2.2 million euros will be allocated to this project that will rehabilitate the section between kilometer point 85 and 91.5.
The works have an execution period of 5 months once the project has been awarded and will favor an average of 9,000 vehicles that travel each day along this section of the island road.
