SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 17 Oct. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The CEO of Citizen Participation and Diversity of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Nauzet Gugliota, announced this Monday that the deadline for submitting applications for the ‘Solidarity Award 2022’ will be open until November 11, a call that is already in its twenty-sixth edition, with which we want to distinguish the solidarity and volunteer work of people, education centers, entities, companies and institutions on the island.

“Since the ‘Tenerife Isla Solidaria’ program was created, dependent on Sinpromi, the social work of groups and entities has been recognized through these honorable mentions, and over the years we have enriched them so that, together with volunteering entities, also extend them to companies, education centers, the media and volunteers, in order to make visible the involvement of all possible areas of society”, says Gugliotta.

In total, there are eight categories, which will recognise, on the one hand, the trajectories of volunteer entities in general, volunteer entities that care for migrants and volunteers.

To these are added five other categories, to the contribution of the leadership of the volunteer woman; to large, medium and small companies; to educational centers, the media and the public administration, entities or bodies.

In each category a maximum of two candidacies can be distinguished, collects a note from the Cabildo.

The CEO emphasizes the important solidarity work carried out on the island.

“Each and every one of the groups, people, companies or entities, public and private, contribute with their work, effort and dedication to improving people’s quality of life,” he says.

With this type of award, the Cabildo “wants to publicly recognize its commendable work, to make its work visible and to bring the population closer to the wealth of actions in which it can collaborate to promote the well-being of people, the conservation of the environment, the promotion of culture or sports, as well as international cooperation for development, community work or civil protection, as elements that revert to the improvement of society as a whole”, he details.

The bases of the call and requirements to be able to attend can be consulted through the website www.tenerifeislasolidaria.org.

THE HONORABLE MENTIONS, IN DETAIL

The ‘Solidarity Award 2022’ will distinguish volunteer entities for their contribution to improving society on the island, as well as those that serve migrants, for promoting social inclusion and compliance with human rights.

Likewise, a distinction is collected for the outstanding work of volunteers for their actions in one or several volunteer organizations on the island, and another specific recognition for the contribution of women volunteers for their leadership and entrepreneurship in initiatives and projects of general interest. .

In addition, an honorable mention is included for large, medium and small companies for their collaboration, through social action, business and corporate social responsibility, giving support to volunteer entities.

Educational centers will also be distinguished for their participation and contribution to volunteer entities from the education of students in values and the enrichment of the center’s educational project.

Among the categories, the media will also be highlighted for their contribution in promoting voluntary action and collaboration with voluntary entities.

The list is completed with the recognition of public administrations, entities or dependent organizations for their commitment to volunteer entities, promoting initiatives to strengthen them.
