The virtual candidate for the Presidency rules out doing a ‘double’ to Parliament and appeals to recover “stability” in the institution

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 15 Oct. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The secretary of the Canarian Coalition Organization in Tenerife and virtual candidate for the Presidency of the Cabildo criticizes the “paralysis” of the government team (PSOE-Cs) of the insular corporation, since it has only focused in this mandate on the “demolition” of the training projects.

“There is a feeling that there is no future on this island,” he summarizes in an interview with Europa Press in which he stresses that the expectations that had been generated with the socialist government have not been met “and that takes its toll.”

Dávila, who is also a regional deputy, points out that going down to the ‘insular arena’ “is not a step backwards”, quite the contrary, it is accessing “the first political line” and management tasks, to the point that he rules out doing a ‘double’ in the Parliament lists.

“Who knows me knows that I function without a network, I burn bridges, the best way to give the best of yourself is to know that there is no plan B. I come here to give the best of myself, to work for Tenerife from the Cabildo “, he commented.

Along these lines, he has highlighted that he likes to “form teams” and surround himself with people “who are experts” and recalled that his beginnings in politics are marked by his admiration for Adán Martín, who presided over the insular corporation between 1987 and 1999.

He has said that his decision to head the electoral list for the Cabildo -it will be official at the beginning of November- “is not a decision made in two days” while specifying that it is an “enormous responsibility” to win the elections again as happened in 2019 with Carlos Alonso.

“I would like to win with a sufficient majority to have stability, which the Cabildo has not had in these four years,” he added.

Dávila insists that the Cabildo “is an institution of reference and has suddenly disappeared from the political and institutional map”, without strategic and structuring projects to attract European funds and that will improve the quality of life of citizens.

He disfigures the current president, Pedro Martín, his lack of leadership in the face of a “lethargic and gagged” island and offers a political project based “on illusion” so that people “can trust a project that is giving them a future for their children “.

In this sense, he points out that there is “tremendous precariousness” on the island with many people who “forgo a salary” to go to work in the South because of the cost of gasoline, and meanwhile, the president of Tenerife takes refuge in issues that are exclusively from your jurisdiction.

“THEY ARE LOOSES, THERE IS NO MANAGEMENT”

“Anything that happens on the island is your business,” he says, giving as an example that the Cabildo has to come up with solutions when the island has the largest health waiting lists in the Canary Islands or the ULL is “dying”.

Thus, he misses Martin more “determination and courage” and therefore offers a “different policy” for the insular corporation. “I’m not going to have office hours,” he says.

Dávila sees a problem of solvency and management in the insular government team — “they are lazy, there is no management, they have the money and they don’t execute it” — and he doesn’t understand why people are told that items are not budgeted because they cannot be executed.

“You have plenty of money and the people on the street are going hungry,” he snaps at the insular Executive.
